Course Overview

Units of Competency

The CIII in Fitness (SIS30315) Qualification includes 16 units of competency covering everything from client health screening and fitness orientation, to instructing group fitness sessions. After you successfully complete CIII in Fitness (SIS30315) you’ll gain access to an additional 2 certifications including kettlebells and suspension training.

Study Pathway

Students who successfully complete a SIS30315 – Certificate III in Fitness may study the SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness.

Career Pathway

The certification is a Nationally Accredited qualification ideal for those wanting entry into the fitness industry as a fully qualified and approved group fitness and gym instructor, but NOT Personal Training. Upon successful completion of your CIII in Fitness, you’ll be able to work in gyms, health clubs and functional studios across the country.


  • Self Paced (between 12-weeks and 52-weeks)
  • Enrolment up to 52-weeks
  • Extensions are available if more time is required


Students must;

▪ Be over 15 to participate in the CIII in Fitness.
▪ Have an internet connection
▪ Have access to a gym for practical assessments

(There are no pre-requisite units for the Certificate 3 in Fitness.)


The course is delivered with a blended learning approach which consists of online home study from our e-Learning platform, with support and guidance from your very own tutor every step of the way.

You can choose to complete the certification purely online, or by attending our campus for 50 hours of practical hands on training.
