teamThe Dangerously Fit Master Functional Trainer (MFT) Certification is the gold standard of vocational fitness education in Australia. It provides all the qualifications and practical training required for you to hit the ground running to set up your own fitness business.

The MFT Certification includes all qualifications and skills taught in the CIV in Fitness (SIS40215) course, with the ADDITION of also becoming a Functional Strength Coach which includes 9 functional training certifications such as Kettlebell Level 1 and 2, Steel Mace, Powerbags, Suspension Training and much more! We're the only fitness educator in Australia to include all the these added certifications as part of a CIV In Fitness.

In addition to the gym-based practical workshops that shows you how to confidently coach in a health club or gym, our additional functional training certifications provide you with the tools and flexibility to work in any environment with your clients and gives you the skills and confidence to become a successful personal trainer.

The MFT Certification will truly make you stand head and shoulders above your competition in today’s fitness market. In addition to quality gym-based practical workshops, you'll also discover how to provide effective group training indoors and outdoors (such as bootcamps/group functional training workouts); 1:1 Personal Training and semi-private personal training (small groups) in a variety of training locations (indoors and outdoors), using a variety of different specialist functional training equipment.

Functional training has become very popularly and is now widely used by personal trainers looking to achieve full body workouts to achieve weight loss, muscle development and improve athletic performance.

Study of the MFT Certification is done online with full-time individual tutor support, with the option of attending 50 hours of practical workshops at our training campus at O2 Performance located in the Sports Hub at Lake Kawana on the Sunshine Coast.

Course Overview

Units of Competency

The CIV in Fitness (SIS40215) Qualification includes 20 units of competency covering everything from instructing long-term exercise programs, instructing personal training programs to supporting healthy eating through the Eat for Health Program. After you successfully complete CIV in Fitness (SIS40215) you’ll gain access to an additional 9 certifications including kettlebell level 1,2 and 3, suspension training, steel mace, steel clubs, powerbags, battle ropes and boot camp.

Study Pathway

Following successful completion of this course, you may wish to consider furthering your learning pathway through a university course in health and sport science.

Career Pathway

This course will give you the knowledge and skills to be competent in a wide range of activities and roles within the fitness industry including; working independently in in a variety of settings such as gyms, fitness centres, pools, outdoor parks and beaches and community facilities.

Duration

  • Self Paced (between 12-weeks and 52-weeks)

Eligibility

Students must;

▪ Be over 16 years of age
▪ Have an internet connection
▪ Have access to a gym for practical assessments
▪ Have successfully completed the pre-requisite units
▪ Hold a current First Aid certificate
▪ Hold a current CPR certificate

Delivery

The course is delivered with a blended learning approach which consists of online home study from our e-Learning platform, with support and guidance from your very own tutor every step of the way.

You can choose to complete the certification purely online, or by attending our campus for 50 hours of practical hands on training.

Pre Requisites

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who hold a SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness or equivalent certificate and have been recognised as competent through a recognised training program or recognition process against the following units of competency:
