Course Overview

Units of Competency

The CIV in Fitness (SIS40215) Qualification includes 20 units of competency covering everything from instructing long-term exercise programs, instructing personal training programs to supporting healthy eating through the Eat for Health Program. After you successfully complete CIV in Fitness (SIS40215) you'll gain access to an additional 3 certifications including kettlebells, suspension training and boot camp.

Study Pathway

Once you have completed the SIS40215 – Certificate IV in Fitness you may choose to further your knowledge by enrolling in our CEC courses. Our short courses include everything from Kettlebells 1, 2, 3, Steel mace, Powerbags, Battle Ropes and much more. You will have the skills to confidently train clients with a plethora of training tools that will keep your clients engaged and motivated.

Career Pathway

The SIS40215 – Certificate IV in Fitness will give you the knowledge and skills to be competent in a wide range of activities and roles within the fitness industry including; working independently in in a variety of settings such as gyms, fitness centres, pools, outdoor parks and beaches and community facilities.

Students that gain this level of competency can train one-on-one clients which may include children and the elderly. You’ll have the tools to plan, conduct and evaluate fitness programs, and offer leadership and guidance to personal training clients and other staff members.

Duration

  • Self Paced (between 12-weeks and 52-weeks)
  • Enrolment up to 52-weeks
  • Extensions are available if more time is required

Eligibility

Students must;

▪ Be over 16 years of age
▪ Have an internet connection
▪ Have access to a gym for practical assessments
▪ Have successfully completed the pre-requisite units
▪ Hold a current First Aid certificate
▪ Hold a current CPR certificate

Delivery

The course is delivered with a blended learning approach which consists of online home study from our e-Learning platform, with support and guidance from your very own tutor every step of the way.

You can choose to complete the certification purely online, or by attending our campus for 50 hours of practical hands on training.

If you already hold the Certificate 3 (SIS30315), the price for the Certificate 4 (SIS40215) is $1950.

The Certificate 3 (SIS30315) and Certificate 4 (SIS40215) combined is $3950.

Option #2: Face-To-Face

If you already hold the Certificate 3 (SIS30315), the price for the Certificate 4 (SIS40215) is $2450.

The Certificate 3 (SIS30315) and Certificate 4 (SIS40215) combined is $4950.

Pre Requisites

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who hold a SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness or equivalent certificate and have been recognised as competent through a recognised training program or recognition process against the following units of competency:

  • SISFFIT002: Recognise and apply exercise considerations for specific populations
  • SISFFIT003: Instruct fitness programs
  • SISFFIT004: Incorporate anatomy and physiology principles into fitness programming
  • SISFFIT005: Provide healthy eating information
  • SISFFIT006: Conduct fitness appraisals
  • SISFFIT014: Instruct exercise to older clients
  • SISXCCS001: Provide quality service
